PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:
Welcome to Metrolina Paralegal Association! My name is Candace
Russell, ACP, NCCP, and I am the President of Metrolina Paralegal Association
("MPA") for 2012-2013. I look forward to serving our members as President. MPA
strives to be the premier paralegal association for all paralegals, and to
assist paralegals to reach their educational level and networking needs.
MPA was created to promote paralegal education
and networking. We presently hold general membership meetings on the second
Thursday of each month from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM (EST) at St. Peter's Episcopal
Church located at 115 West 7th Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. At our
monthly meetings, we feature a variety of speakers from the legal community who
offer their time and talents to discuss various legal issues that may benefit a
paralegal with his or her career.
MPA has two seminars a year that are great
opportunities to obtain CLE credits required to maintain the North Carolina
State Bar certification and the CLA/CP/ACP certifications required by the
National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). The seminars are typically held
in September and February; both are all day events with excellent speakers and
great networking opportunities.
Please keep in mind that we are here to serve
MPA's members! Therefore, if you have any comments, ideas and/or suggestions,
please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the Executive Committee members.
Thank you for your interest in MPA, and I look
forward to meeting you at one of our upcoming events.
Candace Russell, ACP, NCCP
President
